There’s something about July that makes us want to stretch out with a good book in one hand and an iced drink in the other. The OUABC team has been buzzing about these titles, and we’re here to share exactly what’s on our TBR radar this July. Remember, these are books we are excited for, but won’t be featured in our July book boxes.

Silvercloak by L.K. Steven
Release Date: July 29th, 2025
Nothing says summer escapism like a gritty undercover mission laced with romance, rival gangs, and a dangerous prophecy. When Saffron Killoran infiltrates Silvercloak Academy, revenge is the name of the game—but what she discovers while working undercover might cost her more than she’s ready to give. This dark, emotionally tangled fantasy blends detective work with secrets, swoon-worthy tension, and a fallowwolf. (We don’t know what that is, but we’re obsessed already.)
Our Last Resort by Clémence Michallon

Siblings reconnecting at a luxury desert resort, only to get locked in with a murder mystery? We're absolutely booking a reading staycation. With dual timelines and a chilling cult backstory, this twisty thriller promises to be the beach read that’ll have you flipping pages long into the night. Expect secrets, sibling tension, and gasp-worthy reveals from the brilliant author of The Quiet Tenant.
The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst

This sweet standalone fantasy from Sarah Beth Durst is basically summer in book form—complete with honey cakes, sentient roses, and second chances. It’s a whimsical hug in story shape, ideal for those of us who believe plants really do talk back.
A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna
Release Date: July 15th, 2025
Sera Swan is having a tough go—stripped of her magic, exiled from the Guild, and stuck running an inn with her undead aunt and a talking fox. But hope arrives in the form of a mysterious spellbook (and a very handsome historian with a rather awkward past). This cozy romantasy blends second chances, magical misfits, and swoon-worthy sparks into the perfect recipe for a summer read with heart.
Not Quite Dead Yet by Holly Jackson
Release Date: July 22nd, 2025
Holly Jackson is officially stepping into adult fiction—and we are so ready. When Jet Mason is told she has just seven days to live after a violent attack, she sets out to solve the most urgent mystery of all: her own murder. With ticking-clock tension and the same twisty brilliance that made A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder unputdownable, this adult debut promises to keep us all guessing—and gasping.
Angel Down by Daniel Kraus
Release Date: July 29th, 2025
A fallen angel in No Man’s Land? Daniel Kraus takes us into the trenches of World War I with a supernatural twist that is equal parts gritty and awe-inspiring. This one’s perfect for historical fiction fans who like their reads with both grit and grace.

Release Date: July 29th, 2025
Mothers, daughters, and a treasure trove of long-lost paintings, oh my! Beatriz Williams blends historical mystery and family drama in this dual-timeline novel set on Winthrop Island. She Didn't See it Coming by Shari Lapena
Release Date: July 29th, 2025
A mother disappears from her luxury condo in the middle of the day, leaving behind nothing but everyday clues and a whole lot of unanswered questions. Trust us: you won’t see this ending coming.

The final battle for the Blades is here, and it’s going to be ruthless. If you’re into emotionally charged finales with dragons, crowns, and just a bit of heartbreak, don’t miss this stunning conclusion!
The Woman in Suite 11 by Ruth Ware
Release Date: July 8th, 2025
Lo Blacklock is back—and she’s diving straight into danger again. This follow-up to The Woman in Cabin 10 delivers a high-speed chase through Europe, a mysterious woman in distress, and a luxury hotel hiding secrets behind every suite door.
