About the Book
From the bestselling author of Things in Jars and The Night Ship comes the first in a new, cozy mystery series you will not be able to put down.
I believe every one of us is concealing some kind of secret.
1954: When her former novice’s dependable letters stop, she asks to be released from her vows at the convent. Haunted by a line in her pen pal's last letter, she arrives at a charming hotel in Gore-on-Sea in Kent.
A seaside town, a place of fresh air and relaxed constraints, is the perfect place for a new start. She hides her identity and pries into the lives of her fellow guests. But when a series of bizarre murders rattles the occupants of the hotel, it’s time to ask if a dark past can ever really be left behind.
I really enjoyed this book, but even better, I actually liked all the gifts and can use them. In the past few boxes I've had gifts I definitely did not like and could not use at all and had even thought of not doing the boxes anymore, worried that the kind of gifts were changing. This box reminded me of why I fell in love with these in the first place.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and found myself reading differently because I wanted to stretch out the gifts over a period of time. Definitely a different and more immersive way to read!
The story was captivating. Kept my interest. Had a couple twists making it dven more intriguing. I hope to get the redt of writers books in the series.
Loved the book
If you love a good mystery with twists and turns you didn't see coming then you need to read this. I loved the gifts and will probably use all of them if I'm being honest.
